Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 14 April 2026

Cairn Dubh is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or browsing conditions.

Standards we aim to meet

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility, covering areas including text contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and content structure.

How we have approached this

The site has been built with accessibility in mind from the outset. Specifically:

  • Semantic HTML is used throughout, with appropriate heading hierarchy and landmark regions
  • All images include descriptive alternative text, and decorative elements are marked appropriately
  • Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum of 4.5:1 for normal text
  • The site is navigable by keyboard alone
  • Focus states are visible for interactive elements
  • Form fields have associated labels
  • The language of the page is declared in the HTML

Known limitations

The contact form is provided by a third party (Tally). While Tally states that its forms are designed with accessibility in mind, we cannot guarantee that the embedded form fully meets WCAG 2.1 AA in all circumstances. If you experience difficulty using the form, please contact us directly by email at contact@cairndubh.scot and we will respond in the same way as a form submission.

We are not currently aware of any other accessibility issues with this site. If you find one, please let us know using the details below.

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this site. If you encounter a barrier, find something difficult to use, or need content in a different format, please contact us:
